Alexander Graham Bell
Bell was born March 3,1847 in Edinburgh,Scotland. He moved to the U.S. settling in Boston,before he began his careers an inventor. Throughout his life Bell was interested in Deaf people because his mother was deaf. This interest lead him to invent the microphone, and in 1876 the electrical speech machine which is now known as the telephone.Bell imagined great uses for his telephone. The new invention was quickly spread around the world.By 1878 Bell had set up the first telephone exchange in New Haven, Connecticut. By 1884 long distance connections were made between Boston, Massachusetts and New York City.
In 1883 Bell opens a school for the deaf. In 1885 school closes for the deaf because of patent litigation.August,2,1922 Bell dies at Baddeck.Since his death in 1922 the telecommunication industries undergone an amazing revolution. Today non-hearing people are able to use the telephone to communicate.Bell's "electrical speech machine" paved the way to bigger and better things. He also studied the bell and deciBell (dB) system used in schools.
